Barlow Village Hall was
built at the time of the Second World War to house troops and officers. The hall and the club are the only surviving buildings from the former MOD Royal Ordnance Depot and were previously mess buildings. The hall, the club building and the playing
fields were purchased (with funds raised by the residents of Barlow) from
National Power in 1997. The village hall is managed by the Parish Council.
The hall was refurbished in 2009 with : Roof repairs, insulation, plastering, re-wiring, fire alarm system, new
ceilings, UPVC doors with disabled access, new toilets including a disabled
toilet, a newly designed stage area, a wooden floor in the main room, new kitchen
and appliances and creation of a changing room with shower and wash facilities.
The hall is located towards the far end of Park Lane and along with the playing field is sometimes used by caravan clubs for weekend meets. There is a full size football pitch, children's play equipment plus enclosed area for toddlers.
The car park is for users of the hall, club and playing fields, but not for overnight or long term parking. Vehicles are parked at the owner's risk.
CCTV cameras are installed around the village hall area.
